Account and profile

Make sure the information you provide is accurate — it may be checked during identity verification.

You can teach up to two subjects on BLUEXEE.

Your hourly rate is yours to set. A slightly lower rate at the start can attract more students; you can change it anytime. Browse other teachers’ profiles for inspiration.

Work experience and education

Include two or three experiences that show you are qualified to teach. You do not need a teaching certificate to apply, but certificates help us verify “Professional Teacher” vs “Tutor” status. Certificates are not published publicly; they support our review.

BLUEXEE distinguishes a Professional Teacher (teaching certificate or comparable university degree) from a Tutor (other backgrounds).

You can apply as a Professional Teacher if you:

 • Hold a university degree in teaching a foreign or second language
 • Work or have worked professionally as a language teacher

Note: Upload required documents in the Certificates section.

 • Hold a teaching certificate such as CELTA, TEFL, or similar

If you have taught on other online platforms, say so — applications are often processed faster when experience is clear.

Profile photo

A clear, friendly photo draws more attention to your profile.

How to get a great profile picture

 • Look friendly, open, and approachable.
 • Avoid heavy glasses and hats.
 • Use a tidy background.
 • Do not include other people in the shot.
 • Do not show pets as the focus.
 • Frame yourself neither too far nor too close.
 • Use good lighting and sharp image quality.
 • Look directly at the camera.

Profile description

Introduce yourself and welcome students to your classroom. Summarize your background, work history, and education. A few personal lines — family, hobbies, interests — help students connect. Describe your teaching style and why you love teaching.

Write a headline that captures you in one line — for example: “IELTS-certified teacher with 5 years of experience.”

Video introduction

Your video should match your written profile: greet viewers, summarize your work and education, and share a bit about yourself so students get a personal sense of who you are. Explain why you teach online and how you approach lessons.

An introduction video is required; you can replace it anytime. After uploading you can preview and re-record before submitting. Watch other teachers’ videos for ideas.

How to record a strong introduction video

Technical tips

 • Film in landscape (horizontal).
 • Aim for about 1–3 minutes.
 • Good lighting and clear audio.
 • Do not use copyrighted music without permission.

On-camera tips

 • Be friendly, open, and personable.
 • Look at the camera.
 • Speak clearly and at an even pace.
 • Avoid heavy glasses and hats.
 • Dress appropriately for teaching.
 • Keep the background tidy.
 • Do not show other people or pets.
 • Do not share personal contact details in the video.

Availability

Set your time zone correctly first — it keeps bookings aligned for international students. Then add the hours when you can teach; students can only book inside those slots. Regular weekly slots make it easier for students to book recurring lessons, but you can adjust anytime.
